As part of the popular EAT! Festival last year we put on an experimental dinner hosted by our friends at Blackfriars Restaurant in Newcastle Upon Tyne.
With dishes prepared lovingly by award-winning head chef, Troy Terrington, matched with whiskies, equally lovingly chosen by our very own Eddie Ludlow, this was a massive success. A tasting menu of 6 dishes each paired with a sympathetic yet dramatic whisky, the result was dynamite!
By popular demand we are attempting the same again but with a different raft of dishes and whiskies for the most demanding of you.
Between us whisky-loving folk at The Whisky Lounge and our culinary compadres at the Blackfriars we’ll be laying on some of the tastiest seafood and whisky combos that you’re likely to try this year. A stunning six course menu of locally-sourced seafood matched up with some of Scotland’s finest drams.
The paltry price of £45 includes all food and whisky combinations, plus the musings and otherwise of Eddie himself who will be hosting the event.
Any beer, wine or other food or beverage not on the menu are at extra cost.
As always each tasting is designed to be fun and enjoyable for all levels of whisky drinker, and is not a lecture. You will almost certainly learn something new every time, but if you don’t walk out with a smile on your face then there we have done something wrong!
