Whisky School Logo

Ever wanted to know more about the most diverse spirit in the world?

The Whisky School is designed for anyone with an interest in whisky who wants to learn more in an informal but informative fashion. All in an atmospheric and grand setting.

Find out how whisky is made and discover the different styles produced all over Scotland and the rest of the World. The history, regionality and provenance will be discussed as well as an in-depth look at wood maturation and the new-make spirit.

PLUS attendees will get the chance to blend their very own whisky, choose a brand name for it and take a miniature of it home with them!

After completing the course and successfully passing a final exam, the candidate will receive a signed certificate and more importantly the confidence to speak the language of whisky.

WHAT VISITORS SAY

Really informative and enjoyable. Excellent venue and food. Relaxed atmosphere, allowed plenty of questions and increased my whisky knowledge hugely. Great value too. Thanks a lot!
Jonathan Smith, Newcastle Whisky School
For a real amateur this was exactly what I’d hoped for. Enthusiastically delivered by a connoisseur who has a great passion and guided us through the world of whisky in great detail. Eddie made this a very personal course and the chance to blend my own whisky really added to the whole experience. A fantastic day
Pete Foster
Eddie Ludlow’s passion for and knowledge?of malt whisky place him in an elite group?of trusted ambassadors for Scotland’s liquid gold. With his infectious enthusiasm and genial demeanour, Eddie is one of the very best educators you will find.

Whisky
Fact

7

Whisky is derived from the Scots ‘Uisgea Beatha’ (ouishky var, roughly, phonetically). This in turn is derived from Aqua Vitae – the latin for ‘water of life’.
